Marwoolus: A New Alternative to Traditional Marble
A patented composite slab that fuses marble with wool to create a new hybrid stone material. Woolen fiber is mixed with marble powder to create a marble-like material with the physical properties of wool. The marble powder used is derived from?marble waste from the coastal town of Pietrasanta in Italy.
Using a handmade process, the mixture is poured into molds and can be cut to size after curing for a wide range of interior applications, including interior wall and floor coverings, countertops, furniture, lamps, and sculptures. The resulting material resembles traditional marble, but a closer look reveals randomly scattered wool filaments that can mimic the veined appearance of real marble. The material exhibits superior water, stain, chemical, and abrasion resistance. Marwoolus can be customized by changing the color and amount of wool used. Up to nine standard color combinations are available with bright wool colors like blue, red, and purple.
